Born with humble beginnings, Mr Low Chin started out working in a butchery in the 1970s. His experience in food handling coupled with sharp business acumen brought him to establish Singapore’s first live seafood restaurant in 1995 – ‘Chin Huat Live Seafood’. The first of its kind, Chin Huat Live Seafood revolutionised the local seafood restaurant scene by allowing diners to select their catch of choice directly from the tanks.
Affectionately known as ‘Ah Huat the Clementi Seafood King’ by many, Mr Low Chin’s famous slogan for his lobsters took Singapore by storm. Till this day, many fondly recall his signature phrase, “龙虾大过小女孩“ (a lobster larger than a little girl). Today, Chin Huat Live Seafood continues his legacy of live seafood at affordable prices, a favourite among celebrities and connoisseurs alike, with a sumptuous menu of unique flavours and cooking styles.
